How To Create a Naturally Styled Fireplace That Feels Warm, Effortless and Inviting This Christmas

The fireplace takes centre stage, and never more so than at Christmas. It’s where evenings unfold in warmth, stories are shared, and anticipation gently grows for the arrival of Father Christmas. As such a focal point, styling your fireplace can feel daunting, but in truth it’s one of the simplest and most rewarding spaces to decorate.

Learn how we style for the festive season

For our most recent shoot, we dressed the mantel in a generous mix of foraged pine, ivy and conifer, creating a natural, abundant look that feels both fresh and familiar. Don’t be afraid to combine faux and real foliage, as layering textures brings depth and life and means your display will last throughout the season.

To finish, we added our star garland and bell garland, weaving them through the foliage, and completed the look with a collection of enamel candlestick holders in shades of taupe and chocolate. The soft flicker of candlelight instantly brings warmth and atmosphere, making the whole space feel gently illuminated. Soft strings of fairy lights weave through the fireplace, casting a warm, inviting glow that brings the whole scene to life.

The timeless linen stocking, linen stars and brass bells are hung from the cabinet nearby, tying the look together and adding a gentle nod to the wider room. The result feels layered, effortless and full of festive charm, a space to gather beside, unwind and enjoy the simple magic of the season.
